California needs to shift to a system free of landfill where all items will be recycled, reused and sold. Currently, companies are allowed to separate the valuable materials and put the less valuable into landfills, contaminating the soil and water table.
This program will employ Californians, generate revenue from the recycled materials, and clean up landfills currently polluting our environment.
- A state wide system which dismantles, separates and recycles all garbage.
- Glass, paper and metals will be collected and sold to a raw materials companies.
- Plastics will be processed into a fine powder which will be additive for concrete used in building state buildings and work projects.
- Batteries will be drained and the fluids treated and reused.
- Wood will be converted into composite wood products and used for public work projects.
- Foam materials will be processed into carpet padding and the like for state buildings.
- Creation of a diaper made of a rice product which easily dissolves. Eliminating the current disposable diapers will rid California of the need for landfills which contaminate the environment.
- Food waste will be composted and sold to California farmers.
- Reclamation and clean up of toxic landfills.
